Event Overview
CARLAS officially inaugurated its specialized Car Wrap & PPF Training Academy in Romania on October 13, 2026, marking a strategic milestone in its European expansion. The opening welcomed local automotive wrap shop owners, professional detailing technicians, and regional distribution partners.
A Permanent Training Facility Dedicated to Professional Excellence
On October 13, 2026, CARLAS, in partnership with its exclusive Romanian national distributor, officially cut the ribbon on a brand-new Car Wrap and Paint Protection Film (PPF) Training Academy in Bucharest.
Engineered to meet rigorous professional standards, the facility features an ergonomic hexagonal honeycomb LED lighting grid for shadowless surface inspection, a multi-bay practical wrapping arena with Romanian-registered demonstration vehicles, and a full-scale CARLAS Color PPF and vinyl swatch wall displaying hundreds of OEM and custom finishes.
Curriculum Engineered for Modern Detailing & Wrap Businesses
Led by veteran certified trainer Răzvan Șalgo, the inaugural class delivered a comprehensive curriculum conducted entirely in Romanian. The course bridges manufacturing science with frontline installation artistry:
- Manufacturing Architecture & Quality Control: Deep dive into CARLAS’s 25,000 m² smart factory, multi-layer aliphatic TPU formulation, optical-grade pressure-sensitive adhesives, and self-healing topcoats.
- Clear PPF Mastery: Hands-on handling of CARLAS CLEAR PPF (7.5–13 mil), covering bulk-cut positioning, wet application chemistry, stretch limits, and hydrophobic edge-sealing.
- Color PPF & Vinyl Customization: Dry and wet wrapping techniques, complex bumper recessed relief, tension redistribution, and zero-orange-peel finishing.
- Business & Commercial Coaching: Helping shop owners price PPF jobs, explain warranty terms to end-consumers, and scale workshop throughput.
Strategic Context: Seizing the High-Growth Romanian & CEE Aftermarket
Romania represents one of the fastest-growing vehicle markets in the European Union, with passenger car registrations surging by over 21% between 2020 and 2025. With a vehicle fleet exceeding 11.2 million units and an average passenger car age of 15.4 years, the demand for vehicle rejuvenation, paint protection, and color transformation is at an all-time high.
Furthermore, independent automotive service and wrap shops across Central & Eastern Europe face a pronounced shortage of certified film applicators. By embedding a permanent training infrastructure in Bucharest, CARLAS ensures that every dealer and authorized workshop possesses the certified skills required to turn premium film rolls into flawless installations.
